A Christmas Snow in Spring

It should have been Christmas yesterday. The best snow I’ve seen for a LONG time fell from a dreamy sky. As soon as little was asleep in his crib, I went outside to live in it for as long as I could stand it. And trust me, your feet cannot get cold in Moon Boots so really, it was as long as my finger’s could bend and my camera could hold up…it was snowing so hard, I kept hoping the shutter would keep releasing even though both of us were soaking wet. But the very best part of these moments were playing with my first babies. Lexie and Eddie ran around with smiles plastered to their faces muzzles. But Lexie didn’t last as long as Eddie; and since she’s sugar-colored, you couldn’t see her in the photos. So I stayed out with Eddie for a long time and we ran the fields. And seriously…it was really hard to just not lie down and make snow angels–it’s just that I didn’t trust that Eddie could properly hold my camera. 😉

the snow is white and i have no place to go. it feels like my first snow -Matt Morris

The following two photos are probably my favorite landscape images I’ve taken to date. Everything in this post is SOOC, but I can’t stop staring at these two. The snow created it’s own filter. And my fields, my trees, and this space played tricks on my eyes.

I spy…

Happy Snowy Spring…Wherever you are. 😉

Sneak Peek: Lionsgate Wedding

I’m not sure I can swoon anymore. I’ve said that before, but seriously…this time is no joke. Last Saturday, I was privileged to shoot a wedding where love ran wild. Literally. It was kick-off-your-shoes-and-run-with-it love.

It poured from the hearts of Zack and Dominique and I don’t know that I’ve had an easier time photographing it.

I could not be happier for them! …and cannot, cannot wait to post all their images!

Love to the Lionsgate for hosting such a beautiful wedding! And to Dina and Brandice for Dominique’s gorgeous hair and makeup. Really though, look at her!!

Sneak Peek: Paniolo Ranch Wedding

It was quite a journey for them.

Texas to Vegas. California to Vegas. Vegas to California. California back to Texas. And then they called me: Colorado.

Last weekend all three of us met up in Texas.

And we traveled together from San Antonio to Boerne.  From Boerne to San Antonio. Rinse and repeat.

I’m feel so fortunate to have documented the sweet love between Charles and Monica. I’m still swooning over their images and am still in awe at how beautiful the weather was when the day before (and the day after), the skies were painted black and  rain fell from above. Their love was SO evident. And if you really look, you can see it: How their journey to find each-other was worth every mile.

Love to Paniolo Ranch for hosting such an amazing ceremony and reception site.
