Thirty One + Twenty Years of ♥

This year I turned the big three oh. And yet, I still feel like that ten-year-old who, through an awkwardly crooked-toothed smile, fell in love with you on the playground. Twenty years, J. Twenty years it’s been for me being enamored with you… I cannot understand how time has escaped me and how, once again, the calendar celebrates another monuments year of your life, and another year added to our sappy romance story…

You still wear the ring I gave you in high-school. I still have the diary that logged my crush on you in third-grade writing. And we both still spend more time talking to each other than doing anything else in life. We share the most darling, beautiful, baby boy. Every day I am witness to how amazing you are as a role-model and father to him. I’ve always thought you were a good husband…but Jason, you are an even better father.

This year we celebrated TEN, yes TEN years of marriage! Why it feels like one, maybe three, I cannot explain. But I am happier than I’ve ever been and on more than one level, I’m more in love with you. You helped me make a small dream come true this year by traveling out to California around our anniversary and dressing up to have our portraits taken by one of my photography idols. We hadn’t had our pictures professionally taken (as just us two!) since our wedding day. And yet, somehow, this day was just as magical. I’ll never forget it as long as I live…but see, I won’t have to. Our love and your light was so perfectly captured, I can look back at it every single day. I’m laughing to myself because you totally know I will! …

Happiest thirty-first birthday my love! I honestly couldn’t love you more, but rest assured, I’ll most definitely try. xoxx

Newborn: Baby Maria

I have been surrounded by so many sweet babies lately, it’s hard to not want to steal them all! This dreamy little girl is not exception. She makes me beam from ear to ear. No really, you try to look at her and not grin. Perfection wrapped perfectly in a little gray (or pink!) bow.  :*

Amy & Janson, she is perfect! Thank you for letting me snuggle her for a few hours. All my love, Shannon

My dear friend has two of the sweetest boys. Little perfect babes. I have photographed her first son many times over the years, but this is her newest joy: Precious baby Noah.
